Christmas!

Here are some of my knits that I gave. My cousin loved his Gryffindor scarf the most out of all of his gifts. ^_^

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

My boyfriend and I started our Christmas celebration a bit early. We had a small gift exchange party with two of our friends. In addition to gifts, everyone got a stocking.
Here is what I got in mine:

Here is the BF with something I put in his stocking.

Yay! And one of the best things... All of these were taken with my *NEW* digital camera! He gave it to me early so that I could use it tomorrow! ^_^

Merry Christmas everyone!

I chucked a sickie...

Sounds gross, but really it isn't. It's Australian speak for "took a sick day without actually being sick". I am a bad bad kid. Haha.

Anyways, I spent my day off wrapping gifts, sleeping, decorating, baking, making candy, and of course knitting! Whew! What a day. Haha. It was a lot more fun than being in school, though! ^_^

Christmas Knitting!

Like any other knitter, I am working on Christmas gifts. I have finished many things, some I can't show until after Christmas, some I have already given away, and some... That are right here! ^_^

Finished hat and WIP hat. Yay!

Eighteen...

Yesterday was my eighteenth birthday! Woo hoo! Although I did not purchase cigarettes or lottery tickets, register to vote, open a checking account, or any of that fun stuff, I did have a nice day. I am having a small get together with my family on Sunday, and then on the fourteenth I am having a party with my friends... Nothing crazy. Just Pictionary, Twister, Dance Dance Revolution, Mad Gab... and lots of food! Haha. We are QUITE the rowdy ones, aren't we?

I HAVE been doing some knitting! Here is proof:

I definitely think there is some kind of knit-blog conspiracy... Everyone is complaining of their camera's producing blurry photos, and now I must join! My camera is several years old... But I don't WANT to buy a new one! :(

Anyways... I am working on a few more scarves for my family members. They are fun. One is a Harry Potter type scarf for my cousin, another is just a basic 1x1 rib. More photos soon!!

I am thankful for...

My family
My boyfriend
My friends
Yarn
Knitting
Books
My pets

Yesterday overall was a wonderful day. First, I ate at my grandmother's house, and then later I went to my boyfriend's house to eat with his family.

Today was the big shopping day... That I did not participate in. For the past four years my aunt and I have gotten up to go shopping but this year I just didn't have the energy! She took my younger sister instead.

What kind of yarn are you?

You are Mohair. You are a warm and fuzzy type who works well with others, doing your share without being too weighty. You can be stubborn and absolutely refuse to change your position once it is set, but that's okay since you are good at covering up your mistakes.

Check out this website!

I know, it has nothing to do with knitting, but I think it would be something nice to do for the holidays. Its a Holiday Card Project! It won't cost much money or time, depending on how many you wish to send. The website will explain everything about the project. Basically, you send cards, hand-made or store bought, to the address provided and they send the cards to sick hospitol patients. They could be terminally ill, or just in the hopitol for a little while.

I think it would be totally sweet to recieve a card filled with holiday cheer while I was sick in the hospitol. Check out the site and send a card or two! ^_^

Now, as for my knitting, I started a scarf for myself... I am using the pattern from November 29 in the Knitting Pattern a Day calendar. Its called "Holiday Magic Scarf". Just a little project to use some of the stash. Hehe. I will post photos of it when I finish. If I like it enough, I might even make a few as gifts!

Current WIPs

I am working on a simple garter stitch scarf for myself. I am using a red/orange eyelash yarn held with a brown worsted weight yarn. It looks very fall-y. I love it. I think it will be finished within the next few days, so I can show you all how it looks.

Here is a rib scarf I am working on for a friend... I am not sure if it is supposed to look like this. Anyone?

Lots of finished items...

I have been negleting the blog! I apologize very sincerely... Not that it has gotten very exciting yet.

I have finished many scarves in the month of October. I promise to post photos by Monday! I am sticking to scarves this year as Christmas gifts. At least the knit gifts. I don't want to have too many WIPs and then come Christmas I realize that they are still... WIPs... So that is the deal with that.

Kitty Love

I started a washcloth from the yarn I purchased yesterday. Yay! Its really cute. At least, I think its really cute. It is to be a gift for my aunt. I am going to make a few and put them in a shower-y bath-y gift basket...

DJ's kitty, Matthew is too adorable... He can't stand to be ignored, like many other felines, and so when I am on the computer he is constantly jumping on the bed, desk, keyboard... Whatever. Cute, but slightly annoying at times...

Its love all the same, though.

New Yarn!

I went to several yarn stores today and bought a vast amount of yarn... The way I see it, if buying too much yarn is the worst thing I ever do, then I think I will be okay.

I bought a lot of Sugar n' Cream yarn for making dishcloths and washcloths... Maybe a few bath sets for gifts. I also purchased some nice soft yarn for making baby hats. Yay!!

^_^

Busy Season

I have been busy since school started in September. I have classes all day, flag practice after that. Every Friday I have a football game, and an occasional Saturday performance. (I spin flag in the marching band...) On September 25 I began yet another class at the college. Thus, I have barely had any time to breathe, let alone knit. I do, however, have several "Works in Progress". I just started a lovely scarf for my choir director. It is two stranded - purple eyelash yarn knit with a black base. I am also working on what I am calling the Mermaid Scarf, which is for myself. I call it such because the yarn I am using is made up of various oceanic blues. I hope to be able to add some photos very soon!
